We move forward to make Antalya as a city of culture and arts and carry on many international projects that meet the cultural need of our city and that can make an overwhelming impression on international arena.
We are proud and happy that International Antalya Guitar Festival, which we organized for the fist time last year, won an international recognition and become one of the traditional festivals of Antalya.
This year we continue to welcome classic guitar masters from different countries in our city such as Ignacio Rodes (Spain), Anna Likhacheva (Ukraine) , Johann Parier (Austria) and Soner Egesel, Eren Süalp, Bekir Küçükay, Ahmet Kanneci (Turkey)
By organizing various concerts at Yenimahalle Culture Center, Akdeniz University and Muratpaşa Municipality we aim to reach more art-lovers from the different points of the city and integrate the festival with the city.
Besides the concerts, during the festival there will be conferences, conversations and panels on the affects of culture & art activities on cities and the history of classic guitar’s development in Turkey will be narrated by photographs with the participation of Turkish guitar-makers.
As we did last year, we are organizing free workshops for the youth who play classic guitar and want to improve their knowledge on this art. By attending the workshops the youth will have the chance to get training by the various guitar virtuosos came from the different countries of the world. Furthermore the winner of the guitar contest will be awarded a classical guitar and will play with the masters at the closing ceremony.
Dear art-lovers,
I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Festival’s Art Director Ahmet Kanneci, distinguished artists and those who contributed to the festival and especially to the art-lovers who follow the festival with a great interest.
